TedX Youth Speaker

One of my defining moments is being a speaker for the TedX SNS Youth event at my school. I was the only student speaker at the event. spoke about identity formation in adolescents because this was very personal to my journey in life. Expanding about conformity and how to break against the ideals imposed on you by others. I explored passion and how one can figure out their passion. This was a surreal experience and something I would not ever imagined doing at 16 years old. As a little girl I would dream of giving a Ted Talk when I was older. I have always had things to share with the world and getting a platform to share them was unexplainably gratifying. I have had students approach me about the talk and share that it has helped them on their journey to figure out their lives, that they could relate to my words.

 

And even that impact, made everything worth it. I will never forget what it feels to be given that kind of platform, and accomplishing my childhood dream makes me so nostalgic and happy. The conversations I had with some of the other speakers were some of the most insightful and eye opening words I have heard.
